People are concerned about a desalination plant to be built at Point Lowly in South Australia. The plant is to service the expansion of the Olympic Dam uranium, copper and gold mine at Roxby Downs in SA. The worry is to do with the waste product (brine) being pumped back into the gulf. It may prove too salty for the reproduction of the Giant Cuttlefish. Those planning the project feel confident a pipe will pump the waste away from the breeding ground of the cuttlefish!!
